Scaling & Exiting Your Business

Founders who went from operator to owner — systems, teams, valuation and the exits that actually closed.

← All episodes

There is a version of the founder story that ends at the wire transfer. Everything before it is struggle, everything after it is freedom, and the exit is the door between them. Having gone through it, I can tell you the door opens into a room nobody described.

Scaling and exiting are two different disciplines and they reward opposite instincts. Building rewards concentration, speed and trusting your own read over the consensus, because inside your company you are the variable that moves. Everything after the exit runs on different rules, where the variables are not yours to move and your confidence is no longer information. The same person, with the same intelligence and work ethic, gets a completely different result depending on which set of rules is in force, and nobody announces the change.

So the failures in this phase are rarely dramatic. A founder puts the proceeds back into the business, which feels like the opposite of a gamble because it is the asset they understand best, and does not notice that their income, reputation and network were already attached to it. Or spending drifts upward to meet what arrived while returns quietly stop keeping pace. Or the deals start coming through friends of friends and access gets confused with protection.

The episodes here cover the whole arc: the systems that let a company grow without you in every room, what buyers actually pay for and what they discount, how to prepare for a process long before there is one, and the first twelve months afterward, which in my experience are the most expensive months of a founder's life precisely because they feel like the safest.

Some of these are in Spanish, some in English, and every page carries a written version that goes past what the video had time to teach.

There is more where this came from.

Every episode, in English and Spanish.
