Entrepreneurship is an identity transformation. When you're a founder, the company comes out of your pores — you explain revenue models to your kid on the subway. That totality is the difference between having a job and being a founder.

60–70% of founders make the same post-exit mistake. Heads-down for eight years, they forget to network or build a personal brand — then sell and face 'who are you?' Andrew's fix: always allocate time to the long game — writing, podcasts, relationships — even mid-startup. You're never not fundraising.

Test with index cards before you build. Sketch your screens on $5 of index cards, put them in front of 30–40 real customers, and let them poke at paper. A $100–200 fake-door test turns your model's assumptions into proven numbers — do that before asking anyone for a million.

The 'I need before' syndrome is a red flag. Founders who say 'before I can do that, I need this' are stuck in a circle — as are the ones who skip validation and vibe-code in a hoodie for three months. Do everything you can without money; that's exactly when investors want to show up.
