Mindset & Resilience

The inner game behind the numbers — failure, reinvention, discipline and the beliefs that survive a downturn.

← All episodes

Strategies change with every cycle. The psychology does not, which is why the same small group of people keeps compounding through environments that look nothing alike, and why intelligence turns out to be a poor predictor of financial outcomes.

Most of the damage is behavioral and it arrives in recognizable shapes. Optimism, which is what let someone build a company against long odds, becomes overconfidence outside it. Certainty about a single position removes the margin that would have let being wrong stay survivable. Fear sells at the bottom and greed buys at the top, and both feel exactly like conviction at the moment they happen.

Underneath a lot of it sits something older than any market. Fear that traveled with the money. Anyone who grew up watching a currency collapse, an account frozen or a family business taken learned a set of correct lessons that quietly become expensive in a different environment. The instinct that protected capital there can cost real money here, and the person carrying it is not irrational. They are running accurate conclusions from a different data set, which is why arguing with them never works and translating usually does.

The episodes collected here deal with that inner layer: what wealth actually buys, which turns out to be control over your own week rather than a number; why margin for error matters more than being right; how compounding runs in both directions, including through the drags nobody tracks; and what it takes to stay consistent while doing something that looks boring for years before it looks like anything.

Some are five minutes, some are much longer, in Spanish and in English, and each page carries an essay that teaches something the runtime did not have room for.

There is more where this came from.

Every episode, in English and Spanish.
