Tommy Schwarzkopf es arquitecto y cofundador de Uribe Schwarzkopf, la desarrolladora inmobiliaria líder de Ecuador. Hijo de inmigrantes judíos que llegaron a Ecuador huyendo del Holocausto —su familia paterna desde Checoslovaquia y la materna desde Rumania—, Tommy eligió la arquitectura sobre el negocio textil familiar aunque eso significó perder la beca de su padre. A los 21 años cofundó Uribe Schwarzkopf junto a Felipe Londoño y Bernardo Uribe, y durante 53 años transformó el skyline de Quito con 145 proyectos y más de 2,5 millones de metros cuadrados construidos. Atribuye su filosofía de trabajo en equipo al basquetbol, deporte con el que representó a Ecuador y que le enseñó que sin los cinco, nadie anota. Hoy, junto a su hijo Joseph, expande la empresa a Miami con WOMA, un proyecto emblemático en Wynwood diseñado con los arquitectos holandeses MVRDV.
