Shane Miller is the co-founder of New Story Lending, the independent mortgage bank he built with his close friend and partner Juan Rodas. The son of a hardworking single mother in the rural South who couldn't buy her first home until a few years ago — with Shane's help — he grew up transient and socioeconomically challenged, leaned on faith and grandparents, served as an Army infantry officer, and earned degrees from Clemson and a PhD from Cumberlands. New Story launched in June 2023, closed its first loan that month, and was profitable with full agency approval within 90 days.
