Maya Vander landed in Los Angeles from Israel in 2002 with a green card, no network, and four jobs at once. Her mother pushed her toward a real estate license; she door-knocked four days a week, held some 500 Sunday open houses, and made $6,000 her entire first year. She messaged a producer suggesting a women-led real estate show years before joining the Oppenheim Group — then became an original cast member of Selling Sunset, filming five seasons while flying weekly between LA and Miami, pregnant through the first three. At the show's peak she walked away to reclaim her routine with three young kids and build her own Miami team: five motivated women, no nannies, and a 4pm rule made to be broken. Her advice to new agents: save a year of income, because desperation is the worst thing you can bring to a client. In episode 096 of Return on Identity she joins Ahmad Ashrafi.
