Javier Mejía es economista e historiador económico colombiano, profesor e investigador en la Universidad de Stanford, con experiencia académica previa en NYU Abu Dhabi y la Universidad de Burdeos. Su investigación explora la historia económica de Antioquia y el Eje Cafetero, las redes sociales y la economía política de América Latina. Defiende que la región debe pensarse desde adentro, con sus propios códigos y fortalezas, en lugar de importar modelos europeos o californianos sin adaptarlos.
