Henry Woodman

Founder, ICE Portal (exited)

The serial entrepreneur who put Pac-Man machines in laundromats, produced game shows in Chile, and sold his travel-tech company for his exact number — one year before COVID.

ABOUT
Henry Woodman's scrappy path runs from an expedition to the jungles of Honduras at 16 and video games in Tucson laundromats to producing travel films and pitching game shows in post-Pinochet Chile. In the mid-90s he saw 360-degree virtual tours, founded World Travel Vision, then pivoted into ICE Portal — the platform that sized, tagged, and distributed hotel photos to virtually every online travel site on the planet. After bootstrapping through lean years, he named his number, and Shiji, a $7B Alibaba-backed company, paid it — 60 days later, no investment banker, one year before COVID decimated hospitality. He went back for an MBA in his 50s and now pursues his 40-year dream of producing a series. His superpower: discipline from competitive swimming, and the wisdom to say no. In episode 087 of Return on Identity he joins Ahmad Ashrafi.
